Dr. Benway is a solo project rooted in electronic production, art-rock instrumentation, and cinematic sequencing, blending guitar, keyboards, and digital sound design into an evolving catalog shaped by collage, atmosphere, and controlled disruption.
Drawing from the melodic craft of the Beatles, the weight of Led Zeppelin and King Crimson, the spatial experimentation of Brian Eno and Pink Floyd, the precision of Leonard Cohen, and the industrial edge of Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead, Dr. Benway treats songs as structures to be cut open and rebuilt. A parallel visual language runs alongside the audio work, shaped in part by early exposure to the films of Kenneth Anger.
Though primarily a solo endeavor, Dr. Benway occasionally works with collaborators including MJ Willie, Hipster, and Sunset Room.
